We purchase feeder lambs locally in May. We purchase meat lambs that do well when raised primarily on grass and hay. The grass fed literature is clear that feeding corn and soybean meal to ruminants (cattle, sheep, goats) damages their stomachs and liver. We feed our lambs grass, hay, flax seed (to help build their immune system), kelp, and small supplement of cracked oats and dry molasses.

We raise the lambs until they are almost one year old. We then have them butchered at a USDA facility in Union City. We are currently out of lamb but will begin selling it in late November.

If customers are interested in buying a whole lamb to have it custom butchered, we can arrange for that to be done also.
