Summer has arrived in Michigan. Warmer weather and rain has helped the pastures grow lush. The cattle are eating hay now since grass is no longer available. They have access to shelter if they choose but seem to prefer being outside most of the time. We have a few new lambs and meat goats. We have also started the laying hens and have a bunch of meat chickens ready to be processed in a couple of weeks. We have 4 bee hives this year. One of the hives looks almost ready to give us the first honey of the year.
We sell at the new Argus Farm Stop store in Ann Arbor. They are located at 325 West Liberty in the Old West Side neighborhood. Their website is www.argusfarmstop.com
The Chelsea Bushel Basket Market has ended but the Chelsea Winter Market begins Saturday November 8th. That market is at the Educational Center on Washington in what was the old Chelsea High School. The best way to the market is right on Freer Road when coming from from Old Us 12 and then left to the Educational Center which was the old Chelsea High School. We will be inside for the following Saturdays until the 19th of December. Grass fed beef is available now and a few dozen eggs. We hope to have more lamb in December.
